Artificial Insemination (Vaginal, Trans-Cervical, and Surgical)
In order to address some causes of canine infertility, artificial insemination is a form of assisted reproduction. Requests for artificial insemination in dogs can come from a variety of sources.
Artificial Insemination (Vaginal, Trans-Cervical, and Surgical)
At Sondel Family Veterinary Clinic, artificial insemination imitates the process of mating in nature. It entails injecting semen taken from a male dog into a female dog’s uterus or vagina while she is in her most fertile estrous cycle. It is most usually used to treat bitches with normal estrous cycles who have a history of infertility or incapacity to breed naturally. Pregnancy follows successful artificial insemination.
